Municipal museum in Le Vigan presenting Cevennes culture through thousands of objects and fabrics, with superb costumes.
Created in 1963 in a former silk spinning mill, this municipal museum presents Cévennes culture on three levels, displaying collections of the highest quality. Thousands of objects and fabrics, including superb 18th-century costumes, immerse us in the folk arts and traditions of the Cévennes. Regional crafts such as basket-making, glassmaking, clog-making and coopering are highlighted in a dedicated room. André Chamson, the symbolic writer of Cévennes culture, also has his own room.
