This feudal castle was built on a promontory overlooking the valley of the Cèze
The first traces of this feudal castle, built on a promontory overlooking the valley of the Cèze, date back to 1121. Active restoration over the last ten years under the aegis of a dynamic conservation association has enabled the site to be opened to the public, and even to organise concerts in the summer months. You will take a hiking trail, a pleasant botanical path that climbs, after which a guide from the association will tell you all about the history of the lords of Montalet and the steps taken to restore the castle.
