L'OREE DU PARC
This is the restaurant of the Best Western Hotel L'Orangerie held by the Pringalle family. But the semi gastronomic proposals of chef Erik Bache-Wiig and the pleasure of lunch or dinner in this green setting at the gates of Nîmes prompt us to recommend this table, even if you are not a guest of the hotel. Near the national 113, discover this park with century-old trees, protective trees, which keep you safe from road traffic if you decide to eat outdoors. On the plate, the land of the regions of the South is inspirational: foie gras, selle of lamb, fragmentation of Saint James, duck aiguillettes and serving the chocolate pyramid in liquorice, a recipe that comes straight from Uzès. Soon, the opening of a wellness area and a wine tasting shop and regional products.

A great hotel which I stay at frequently. The staff are always very friendly, the breakfast superb and the amenities, with the swimming pool great. The only negative for me, as a business guest, is the wi-fi is very poor so I often have to use my mobile hotspot.

Overall would have to say we were quite satisfied with this hotel. Yes, a little dated but quaint. What I would have thought Hotel California was like!
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Breakfast has a good selection of foods but the scrambled eggs are best left! Good coffee machine and selection of types.
We booked a room with balcony which was good as it was overlooking the pool.
The walk to Nimes centre is definitely 15 minutes. A bit tough in high heat. Bus 6 and 7 almost outside hotel to centre for €1.40 single or taxi around €9.50.
Trains to Avignon, Arles etc are good and not expensive, around €15 return.
Get out and see local villages in Provence.
