THEATRE MUNICIPAL
The Municipal Theatre, in the heart of Escutcheon, is the right lung of culture in Nîmes. A beautiful showcase of the city's cultural policy, programming, both popular and classical, contemporary and musical, gives a fair place to the different repertoires (opera, opera, jazz, theatre, international choreography…). Completely remodelled building, restored façade, before and after show service, in a large chic bistro on the first floor, so many arguments that have attracted the new public, eager for contemporary creations. Each year, the flamenco festival or the Jazz City festival are scheduled appointments which cast into aftershows throughout the city. Note, however, that in 2011, the most avant-garde share of the programming, the Japanese Experience, was cancelled due to artistic disagreements with the musical label Sound, a partner of the biennale. Should you see a back on the side of the artistic leadership of the theatre? Follow!
