AFS VIVRE SANS FRONTIERE
Founded in 1947 by U.S. students, American Field Service organized an ambulance relief system for the wounded the Second World War. AFS continued its humanitarian mission on different fronts around the world, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, India and Burma. Once peace has returned to these countries, these pioneers have participated in the voluntary reception of young people abroad. An international non-governmental, non-profit organization, the association constitutes a network of intercultural exchanges between countries. This is how AFS works today to find voluntary foster families and a secondary or higher school for students, students or young adults who want to stay outside their borders for a period of 1 months to 1 year. A grant for the financing of the stay may be awarded. In addition to language learning, it is the discovery and understanding of another culture that is at stake. Antenne in Montpellier with correspondents in Nîmes.
