Museum preserving a rich collection testifying to the life of Nîmes since the early Middle Ages, installed in the former episcopal palace.
Located in the former episcopal palace, the Museum of Old Nîmes is the memory of our ancestors. Thirty thousand pieces testify to the life of Nîmes since the High Middle Ages. The textile collections from the 18th century merchant manufacturers, with the famous Nîmes shawls, the collections of the Nîmes Manufacturing School, the typical Nîmes and Cévennes furniture, and the regional pottery are organized into thematic rooms. One of them is dedicated to the Nîmes fabric and to the blue dye that gave Denim and blue jeans.
