LES GÎTES DU CESSOUS
Mr. and Mrs. Couvreur live in the beautiful Cessous Valley, in the heart of a pristine and preserved environment. They welcome their guests at the end of a small three-kilometre road that winds along the stream. We can't go any further, the isolation and calm of the place are striking. The Cévennes building with its massive old walls, proudly hung on the hill for centuries, houses two large cottages. They are totally independent, each with its own character. The gîte La Clède was the farmers' home, on two floors, built on vaulted cellars with a chestnut dryer at the back of the building, and a stone staircase leading to the second level, which used to carry the bundles of mulberry branches feeding the silk worms. The other cottage, La Magnanerie, is a building where silkworms were once raised. Decorated with authenticity, they offer a little bit of the Cévennes soul, sober and warm. Their excellent equipment guarantees impeccable comfort. Immersion in nature and relaxation are guaranteed.
