Built on the foundations of the first place in the twelfth century, Madières Castle is a vast quadrilateral consisting of three wings in «U», closed by a fortified wall in which the monumental entrance portal opens, under the Breton that once defended the lift bridge. Two of the wings were built in the xivth century and it is at the last, built at the end of the Renaissance, that the building owes its imposing south façade and terrace. The castle is now occupied by a high-end hotel-restaurant.
