ROQUEMAURE CHURCH
The church of Roquemaure is a typical example, not to mention a jewel, of the typical Gothic religious architecture of the region. Erigée in 1329 on the orders of Cardinal Bertrand de Pujet, then nephew of Pope John XXII, she has since 1868 held the sacred relics of Saint Valentine, the famous patron saint of lovers. Its interior, particularly well preserved, also contains huge oranges dating back to 1690. Oranges on which, for the very first time, was played for the very first time the famous "Christian Midnight" of Placide Cappeau, a child of the country, on December 24, 1847.
