CHÂTEAU DE BOUSSARGUES
A 12th and 15th century castle, steeped in history and perfectly maintained by the Malabre family. In its setting, this castle has a hidden vault, set up in the foundations and very close to a chapel classified as a historical monument. The castle park is dotted with multi-century-old oaks. Do not miss the visit of the Romanesque chapel. A 4 km hiking trail in the vineyard and you will go back in time where each stone is a vestige of our history. In the cellar, you will taste this magnificent wine made from old Syrah and Grenache vines. Under the bright red colour with garnet hues, a bouquet of small red fruits slightly jammed is expressed. The palate shows a remarkable balance: the tannic structure asserts its presence with finesse, the freshness is also part of the mix, and the whole is wrapped in superb aromas of cherry and blackcurrant with impressive persistence. A place and an authentic wine worth a visit.
Near the castle, small stone houses are rented for 2, 4 or 6 people per week, with all the linen provided, all year round. 300 metres from the castle, an old silkworm farm with its corner chimneys which were used for the cultivation of silkworm brought back by the ancestor Olivier de Serres, then transformed into a sheepfold at the end of the 19th century. Recently, it was converted into two adjoining dwellings. A large terrace adjoining the two apartments faces south and is used even during the winter months. The complex has a large swimming pool and a tennis court for everyone's enjoyment. Possibility to rent the place in its entirety for a group of 10 people.
