Castle full of history linked to the wars of religion which marked the Cevennes, was burned in the 16th century and rebuilt
Fief of the seigniory created by François I, it was burned in the 16th century by the royal troops, immediately rebuilt, then enlarged in the 17th century. Many illustrious people stayed within its walls, such as the Marshal of Thoiras, the Duke of Rohan, Basville (intendant of Languedoc), the Count of Broglie, the Duke of Noailles, the Marshal of Montrevell, the Marshal of Villars... All of them were linked to the religious wars that marked the Cévennes and the castle.
