Located in Saint-Sébastien-d'Aigrefeuille, Gard, Bambou du Mas de Lay is a bamboo and chestnut farm. Eric and Sophie, the owners, grow these products under the chestnut trees of an old Cevennes farmhouse. Chestnuts are processed on site and sold direct. Visitors can sample the farm's products and stay in their self-catering cottage, located on the farm. Products on offer include cooked chestnuts, jams, chestnut cream, coulis, syrup and herbs. The farm is open by appointment and also sells its products at markets, fairs and horticultural events. For those wishing to stay overnight, the fully-equipped self-catering cottage can accommodate 3 to 4 people.
