5 star campsite offering high standard accommodation and pitches for a quiet and pleasant stay.
Set in the heart of its vineyards and close to the adventure park, this campsite is ideal for relaxing with friends or family, and is renowned for its peace and quiet. France's first 5-star campsite, it offers accommodation and camping pitches on ultra-spacious plots, and plenty of activities (stand-up paddle rental, go-karting, vineyard tours). The Les Prés du Roi open-air hotel on the estate also offers unusual accommodation.

This campsite is wonderful with one exception which I will deal with at the end.||||We loved||- pool area has loads of sun loungers, no queueing and putting down towels necessary here, a fantastic plus for us||- there were 2 slides into the main pool area and they were really great, we noticed that both adults and kids were loving them||- there is a lovely outdoor adult only spa area which we never tired of including jacuzzi. Kids are allowed into it in the morning and everyone was happy with that arrangement||- we loved the restaurant / bar area. Food was superior to any other 5* campsite that we have stayed at and reasonably priced. Pizza truck is great addition and a real hit for us.||- nice little shop onsite doing the usual croissants etc||- Massereau wine from own vineyard available and very nice. Nice touch that the bottle of wine was same price in shop as opened at bar||- Staff are mainly young locals who were so helpful and friendly and seemed happy out||- There is astro pitch for football, trampolines , ping pong, tennis . Not much by way of organised matches etc but kids didn't mind and in evening they all gathered on pitch to play soccer.||- Very clean site, very safe||- right on greenway for cycling, we used it a number of evenings to walk into Sommieres village for night market / food. we also hired bikes one day , as were were there in August it was extremely hot but otherwise bike trips are very manageable and safe||- we spent 14 nights here and were sad to leave ||EXCEPT||- Accommodation. We booked with Irish tour operator EuroCamps, we have never used them before and never will again. This is a 5* campsite and our assumption was that the accomodation would also be 5*. At best it was 3*. See the photos attached. It was so tired and dated, dark and dingy. We paid approx Eur220 per night in August. My main gripe here is why would the management of Domain de Massereau allow 3* accomodation on their 5* site ? The pictures on the Eurocamp website lead one to believe it is modern accomodation so buyer beware!||Note this comment relates to just our accommodation on the site with this provider, the other mobile homes on site seemed more in keeping with the 5* site, from the outside anyway.
