SAINT-MARTIN PRIORY OF CÉZAS
Built in the twelfth century, on a promontory at 567 m altitude, the priory Saint-Martin of Cézas, in the Gard, is the branch of a mother abbey. This abbey set up a few monks to make its heritage grow. The priory, surrounded by a graveyard and terraces lying at its feet, consists of a Romanesque chapel of the twelfth century and buildings. He was affected by the religious wars of the sixteenth century, as well as by the war of the camisards in the eighteenth century. In the French Revolution, the church is preserved as a monument. The church remained in office until 1867 and the Presbyteral buildings became a farm, which will be abandoned in the twentieth century. The site is visited from April to September and all year round shows and exhibitions are organized.
