ST. THEODORITUS CATHEDRAL
Cathédrale Saint-Théodorit d'Uzès, home to a single Fenestrelle tower that remained standing during the Wars of Religion in the century.
Built as early as 1090, the cathedral was heavily damaged during the Crusade against the Albigensians in 1177. In the 17th century, it was hit by the Wars of Religion and destroyed in 1621. Only its magnificent Fenestrelle tower remained standing. Under the reign of Louis XIV, it was rebuilt in 1642. The façade was last restored in 1873. The 17th-century organ, framed by gray and gold shutters, is one of the few to have been perfectly preserved.
