CHAPEL OF THE GREY PENITENTS
The chapel at the far end of the courtyard of the former cardinal's palace bears witness to the major role played by the penitents in the social history of the Midi region.
A historic monument, the chapel stands at the far end of the courtyard of the former cardinal's palace, known as the Palais de Boulogne or Palais de Thurroye. A treasure of Baroque architecture, famous for the extraordinary stereotomy of its vaults, the chapel also bears witness to the major role played by the penitents in the social history of the Midi region. It features a five-bay nave, with four chapels topped by tribunes (two to the north and two to the south). The site hosts conferences and exhibitions.
