ACTION D’URGENCE INTERNATIONALE (AUI)
Shocked by the war's use of men, Pierre Cérésole joined the group of «Conscientious Objectors» and in 1919 he met members of the International Reconciliation Movement (MIR). He created the SCI in 1920, whose volunteers first came to help in natural disasters. The International Solidarity Organization AUI (International Emergency Action) was born in 1977 as a result of this model. AUI helps victims of natural disasters (floods in France, earthquakes in Haiti or Morocco, tsunami….), however, it also aims to prevent human losses before they occur, informing the populations and supporting them in projects to improve their direct environment.
