A geological museum offering an insight into the structure of the subsoil and the geological history of the département.
The Lozère service area is located in the commune of La Garde. It's a classic facility in itself, except that it houses the Géoscope, a truly unique open-air geological museum in a former quarry, where you can discover the structure of the subsoil and the geological history of the département through 45 mega-samples of rocks from the four natural regions of Lozère (Aubrac, Margeride, Causses and Cévennes): basalt, limestone, granite and micaschist.
