This chocolate, created in 1855 by a chocolate-maker from Saint-Etienne to pay tribute to the Battle of Malakoff during the Crimean War, is the specialty of Malakoff & Cie, a company based in Banassac-La Canourgue. The production workshop resembles a schoolyard, with plane trees, an L-shaped building and exposed stonework, and, in the background, a boutique-tea room where you can discover some thirty different spreads. You'll also find Grand Cru tablets and gift boxes. Round off your visit with a tour of the factory: approx. 45 min. and a tasting session!
