LES PIGNES
The boat hull frames are one of the great architectural features of Lozere. These roofs, also known as "à la Philibert de l'Orme", inspired Damien Attrazic and Eric Poudevigne, two builders who imagined an unusual habitat of about twenty square meters, whose curvature evokes the building system of the royal architect. Called Les Pignes - a nod to the pine cone, which also has the same shape - these pocket houses, which do not require a building permit, are made entirely of wood. Damien, a salesman, and Éric, a carpenter and cabinetmaker, buy their Douglas fir from a sawmill in Lozère. The siding, which provides insulation for the house, is also made of wood wool. Les Pignes can be used as an office or recreational accommodation for example. One of them is moreover installed on the site of the communal camp-site of Aumont-Aubrac. Others are located at the Le Pré Morjal campsite in Ispagnac.
