LA GOURMANDINE
We pass by or linger here to taste Alain Julier's specialities (special breads, pastries, chocolates and ice creams). One comes here especially to find Amélou (registered trademark): a Floracoise speciality. This cake is made with, among other things, lemon zest and almonds, hence its name. Indeed the almond tree, which is called "amelanquio" in Occitan, is very present all along the gorges of the Tarn. And almonds can also be found in crunchy foods, madeleines de Florac, or tartes pommées, so many home-made specialities to be savoured urgently!
