CHAMPILOZÈRE
There is life in the meadows and undergrowth of Lozère. Loïc Robert and Florimont Chevalier have a particularly trained nose and eyes to find it. An intuition that this former carpenter and former sports teacher have transformed into a profession. The two young Mendois created Champi-Lozère in 2013: a mushroom trading company that promotes their native land and its wealth. Loïc Robert and Florimont Chevalier rallied to their cause the many landowners and foresters in the department, as well as enlightened pickers. Ceps, mushrooms, chanterelles, truffles and morels are collected during the day, in an area that runs from Margeride to Mont Lozère via Aubrac, and delivered the next day to restaurants, primeurs, canneries or private individuals in the south of France - the Pourcel brothers from Jardin des Sens are among the customers. The two young men have also developed their own transformation activity. And they offer, on the local markets or on their website: dried mushrooms, mushroom powders, mousserons, chanterelles or death trumpets, ceps in vinegar, salt or oil flavoured with mushrooms..... Not to mention their astonishing mushroom jam.
