Terrace restaurant serving regional specialty cuisine by Hélène in Meyrueis.

In the early 20th century, this address became a place to sleep and dine. General de Gaulle was even one of the guests. History doesn't tell us what he tasted, but we can tell you and describe this table with great pleasure. The cuisine features a large number of local specialties. These include roast pélardon, smoked trout salad, lamb noisette, and an assortment of regional cheeses. Eating on the château's flower-filled terrace or under the vaulted ceiling of the restaurant is a pure moment of delight.

De locatie is werkelijk voortreffelijk met een koninklijke uitstraling totdat je binnenkomt… Vergane glorie, ouwe stoffige meuk en “lakeien” met het geheugen van een goudvis. Op de kamer kun je het raam beter gesloten houden vanwege het wespennest. De allergrootste tegenvaller was het diner. Gillend duur echter bedroevende kwaliteit. Theelepeltje pepersaus over een gecremeerde steak(je) geflankeerd door anderhalve kilo aardappelpuree. That’s it ! Dessert moest gelijk met het hoofdgerecht worden besteld. Gewoonweg smerig. Wijn niet per glas te bestellen. Daarom voor een flesje huis-tuin-en-keuken-rosé gegaan, 40 euro ! Bijna een reden om aangifte te doen van oplichting. Daarentegen was het bij het buitenzwembad goed toeven. Overall een onvoldoende. Ga hier vooral niet eten ondanks uitnodigend na een lange rit. In het stadje op loopafstand is genoeg te vinden.

Déçus du repas. La qualité était là mais ce n'était pas vraiment des produits locaux.
Le service n'était clairement pas au niveau attendu.
En plus nous n'avons pas eu notre réduction.

Moi et ma femme, on a déjeuné plus d'une fois au Château d'Ayres. Le goût était toujours au rendez-vous.
