CHÂTEAU DE SAINT-JULIEN-D'ARPAON
13th century castle built for military purposes by the lords of Anduze, its ruins trace its ancient architecture
This castle in ruins leaves some clues of its former architecture, arches, a dovecote, a watchtower. It is necessary to project oneself into the past to reconstitute the missing parts. Certainly dating from the 13th century, it would have been built for military purposes by the lords of Anduze. Destroyed at the beginning of the 17th century, it was rebuilt in the following century. Without maintenance, it ended up falling into disrepair and is exposed today, in its progressive return to nature.
