NOTRE-DAME-DE-LA-SALETTE
Chapel of a simple architecture in a pleasant setting, in the middle of pines and oaks, overlooking Banyuls and its vineyards.
The chapel was founded in 1863 by Bonaventure Reig, following a vow made to Our Lady of La Salette in Isère. With its simple architecture, its whiteness inevitably evokes other Mediterranean shores, a certain similarity with the whitewashed houses of Andalusia or those of the Greek islands. In the middle of pines and oaks, at an altitude of 200 m, it dominates Banyuls and its vineyard slopes. The place, full of softness and serenity, offers a splendid view. Unfortunately, the chapel cannot be visited but it is worth the detour.
