It is on the shale terraces of the heights of Banyuls-sur-Mer, that the Ballaury estate offers a production of olive oil typical of the Mediterranean soil. The 2,200 olive trees spread over ten hectares allow Olivier Borrat, to introduce you to the different varieties of oil of the department, four of which have been selected for the future AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée). And as for the vineyards, the olive oil of the domain can be tasted! In the oil bar, you can smell, taste and compare the multiple notes of perfume that emanate from its oils. On the programme: three monovarietal oils of argoudeil, courbil and olive, as well as two blends : l'Authentique (argoudeil, courbeil and old varieties) and la Catalana (lung, green and redouneil). The tasting continues with the different preparations based on olive oil and olives from the estate. Visits of about 1h30 are also organised all year round, once or twice a day depending on the season. Since the end of 2012, Mas Reig has its own mill, adjacent to the oil bar, on the estate... An obvious choice in the land of the tramontane! Consume without moderation.
