HÔTEL BELVÉDÈRE
Hotel dedicated to travellers arriving at stations, with rooms converted into apartments and a rooftop terrace - a place not to be missed
The belvedere, the figurehead of Cerbère, is the work of architect Léon Baille. This hotel, designed for passengers arriving at the station, was also the world's first reinforced concrete building (1932). The interior and exterior were designed in the innovative "Paquebot" style of the 1920s: triangular surface with a "stern", rounded passageways, roof terrace with staircases like a ship's chimney... Today, Le Belvédère is used to host cultural events, and its rooms have been converted into apartments.
