CASA PAÏRAL * * * *
Hotel with swimming pool and air-conditioned rooms near the beach of Collioure offering dishes based on local products.
In a quiet dead end street, the Casa Païral is the charming hotel par excellence. An old Catalan house with an ochre facade, which you enter through a hall paved with old terracotta tiles. You will love the Mediterranean garden with a fountain and cypress trees, you will be intoxicated by its fragrant hundred-year-old magnolia; the swimming pool is nestled in the greenery. Some rooms evoke the 1930's, others plunge you into the tawny universe. Vary to seduce: every year, the hotel's two-room decor is revisited in line with history.

The hotel is very central but the front entrance set back up a short alley from the main road, 6 minutes walk from the station. A lovely old building with some quirky decorative touches in each room; we had room 6, top floor overlooking the lovely garden. The room is spacious, with a large very comfortable bed, good sized shower room. No lift, so we had to carry our suitcases up both flights of stairs (Audrey nobly insisted on helping). We enjoyed the swimming pool, though on 2 subsequent days the sea water was warm enough and calm enough to swim (in late October!). Very good breakfasts, which can be eaten in the garden if the weather is good enough. Thank you, Audrey!

What a treat! This is a very elegant, warm, and comfortable hotel with beautiful gardens including swimming pool and multiple areas for seating and/or sunning, all tucked into the downtown of this picturesque village. In addition, there is parking available by reservation, in a town where finding a parking space is not an easy task.|We were a party of three and had booked two rooms. Both were beautifully individually decorated. The beds were extremely comfortable. One room also contained a desk which looked over the garden on one side, and a small seating area for two on the opposite side of the room. The second room had a small anteroom fitted with a sofa that was situated between the door and the bedroom.|We found the staff to be warm, friendly, and very helpful with recommendations for restaurants and local activities.|We highly recommend this gem of a hotel to augment your enjoyment of the beautiful village of Collioure!
