Built by the Counts of Roussillon and the kings of Aragon in the 12th and 14th centuries, the castle was the court of the kings of Majorca during the brief episode of their reign. Thereafter, it was occupied by the Spanish until 1642, then fell into the hands of the French. Vauban then reinforces the citadel. Architecture lovers will appreciate the warhead vaulted rooms, the chapel, but also the impressive ramparts from which you can enjoy a superb view of the sea and the city. Exhibitions and shows animate the castle throughout the year.

La visite nous fait remonter le temps et nous explique l'importance de la ville au cours des siècles.
De plus la vue depuis le château est magnifique et l'entrée ne coûte que 2€ !!!

Le site est magique. Les différentes ailes donnent un effet de labyrinthe qui rythme la visite à travers les siècles, la vue des différentes terrasses permet une vue à 360 ° sur les différents quartiers de Collioure, la mer et les montagnes proches.
