The Swiss Maternity Hospital in Elne, a symbol of hope in the midst of horror, a poignant museum to visit.

If ever there was a place of remembrance in the département, a symbol of hope, this is it. Here, between 1939 and 1944, a courageous young Swiss woman, Elisabeth Eidenbenz, enabled Spanish, Jewish and Gypsy women to give birth with dignity to almost 600 children. A life-saving stopover during a period when the word "humanism" no longer had any meaning. Today, the Swiss Maternity Hospital in Elne is a fascinating museum where you can delve into an obscure part of our past.

Joli château, qui est mis en valeur depuis quelques années comme témoin de l'Histoire. Nous avons apprécié la visite guidée qui nous a permis d'en savoir plus sur ce lieu hors du commun et sur son histoire émouvante.

J'ai adoré visiter la maternité Suisse d'Elle. L'histoire et le rôle qu'Elisabeth Eidenbenz a pu avoir pour aider des centaines de jeunes femmes et leurs bébés.
Le château est magnifique également.
