Both dynamic and family-friendly, Font-Romeu is one of the most important resorts in the Pyrenees. 1- Downhill skiing or snowboarding

From Font-Romeu, you can access the Font-Romeu Pyrénées 2000 ski area. Its 46 runs are divided into 15 green runs, 11 blue runs, 8 red runs, 10 black runs and two toboggan runs. The resort also offers handiskiing and a snowpark for snowboarders. The 700m-long Gentianes piste is lit for night skiing. In fact, it's the longest lit run in the massif.

What better way to discover the beauty of the countryside around Font-Romeu than on snowshoes? Situated 10km fromSpain in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees National Park, the resort boasts a fine architectural heritage in the midst of exceptional natural surroundings. Numerous hiking trails criss-cross the surrounding area, allowing you to admire the Cerdagne and Capcir regions and their exceptional wildlife.

3- Ski touring

Numerous peaks culminating at almost 3000m make Font-Romeu the ideal resort for ski touring. Whether on your own or with a guide, this more sporty option than downhill skiing involves climbing the slopes with "sealskins" on your skis. Once you've reached the top, all you have to do is remove the skins and glide back to the resort.

If you want to discover Font-Romeu without skiing, don't hesitate to go Fat biking. This wide-wheeled bike can be ridden on soft ground, especially on snow. You can also rent Quad bikes at the resort. These four-wheeled mountain bikes are fun, comfortable and safer. There's also a special "discovery" trail downhill near the ski area, where you can learn all about quad biking.

5- Discover mountaineering

Follow in the footsteps of the greatest sportsmen and women by taking up mountaineering. During an introductory session, a certified professional will teach you both the right moves and the correct use of the equipment required for this sport. You'll then be able to enjoy the incredible scenery of the Pyrenees while pushing yourself to new heights.

6- Take a biathlon course

Fun and friendly, biathlon is ideal for families at Font-Romeu. It's not for nothing that the resort is one of the top family ski resorts. In Font-Romeu's Nordic area, you can learn biathlon with your children aged 8 and over. ESF instructors will teach you how to cross-country ski and handle a laser rifle. Biathlon is also available in summer , when shooting is combined with physical effort.

7- Diving under the ice

In Font-Romeu, the teams at the Ozone 3 Mountain Office offer a wide range of summer and winter activities, from the most leisurely to the most extreme. One of these is ice diving, available for those aged 16 and over, with no diving level required. The only requirement is that you know how to swim. You'll travel across the icy lakes of Cerdagne and Capcir and dive into a hole cut in the ice, wearing your special wetsuit and following a breadcrumb trail. Sensations guaranteed.

8- Treat yourself to a wellness session

After a day's skiing or hiking in Font-Romeu, or simply because you want to relax, don't hesitate to treat yourself to a wellness break. In the resort, many establishments, sometimes even hotels, offer wellness packages. Depending on the location, you'll find spas, hammams, swimming pools, Jacuzzis and massages.

9- What to do in Font-Romeu? Go skating

While staying in Font-Romeu, don't hesitate to spend some time with the family or as a couple at the Patinoire Philippe Candeloro. This 1,800m² Olympic rink is used in particular by Font-Romeu's Centre national d'entraînement en altitude (CNEA). For renovation and modernization work , it will be closed from December 2024 to summer 2025.

10- An outdoor escape game

To keep you entertained while you rack your brains, theFont-Romeu Tourist Office offers two outdoor escape game puzzles. "La légende du Prince et de la Bergère d'Odeillo" is an immersive adventure with a family-friendly course designed for children aged 6 to 14. For adults, "Le trésor maudit du Conquistador perdu" is more challenging. These games are available via the resort's mobile app.

11- Go bowling

For a great evening out after a day on the slopes, Font-Romeu has a bowling alley open in summer and winter, ideal for families and friends. Head to Bowling l'Élan for 10 lanes equipped with barriers for children, where you'll also find a bar and games room. To keep the evening going, there's also a casino-cinema-discotheque in the village.
