Le Carcanet is a bar and crêperie with a simple and "woody" decoration, like a mountain inn. People from the village come here as much as tourists to taste pancakes or dishes, to drink local beers and especially to enjoy the most beautiful terrace of Formiguères: a series of tables overlooking the stream. The magical sound of the water running over the polished granite or lulling our ears... A mountain village without these sounds is no longer a mountain village, and Formiguères is lucky, because the river Aude flows through it.
