LES BUIS
Hotel with terrace and swimming pool located in Ille-sur-Têt
This charming residence, a vast 19th-century mansion, is home to five beautiful rooms whose names reflect the seasons. Refined and personalized, like the rest of the house, they are decorated with tasteful furnishings and period features. Each room has its own bathroom and separate toilet. Hearty breakfasts are served on the Italian-style terrace overlooking the garden. You'll also appreciate the swimming pool, lined with comfortable lounge furniture, and the many little rest areas in the well-kept garden. The kindness of the owners makes for an unforgettable stay in this large, quiet and restful house.

If you are looking for A/C and refrigerator in the room, do not come here. If you like old houses, cracking floors and old furnitures, Les Buis are here for you! The garden is very beautiful with a nice swimming pool and the place is very quite. Service is superb with a great breakfast and very pleasant detail : 4 breakfast in this place with different tableware everyday. To make it short : I will come back to this place without hesitation.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The housekeeper was lovely and seems to do everything, change sheets, towels and serve breakfast. When we arrived Sergio was very pleasant. On the first evening I was waiting to speak to who I presume was Carlos to ask for a fan for my daughter's room. He knew I was waiting while he chatted to another guest for 15 minutes. When they finished he walked off so I had to chase him. I asked for a fan, he was very unfriendly and seemed put out. There is no air con, the house is very hot and dark. On the last morning when we (group of 6) came down for breakfast both owners were sat in the garden and did not look at us or say good morning. The housekeeper was not around so we sat there in silence while the owners ate their breakfast and we waited for the housekeeper to come out. When we did get our breakfast the owners sat in the garden right by us as we had breakfast and did not acknowledge us at all. We seemed to be the only guests that day. I can't quite get my head around as owners of a hotel why you would not greet your guests or even say the housekeeper will be with you soon. It was very awkward and we did not feel relaxed at all. After breakfast when we were leaving for our next hotel no one was around to say thanks for staying with us. We had come from a similar sized hotel ran by a couple who were so lovely and so helpful so this was a real disappointment. The area isn't great either, most restaurants are closed on Sundays and Monday. The only place that was open was full of leery men.
