BATEAU LE LYDIA
A former cruise ship that sailed the seas of the globe, the Lydia completed its journey in 1967 when it was bought by the Société Mixte d'Economie des Pyrénées-Orientales. Stripped of her engines and pulled eastwards into the artificial harbour dug especially for the occasion, the Lydia became the first building in the seaside resort of Port-Barcarès and a figurehead of the Racine mission. This sunken liner was in turn a restaurant, discotheque and casino. It was finally transformed into a museum in 2011 and hosts numerous exhibitions. Not to be missed.
