Cuisine based on market produce in a restaurant with terrace in Montesquieu-des-Albères.
And let the show begin! The stage is an old stone building decorated with hunted objects and some works by artist friends, a lovely terrace with its pool where Koi carps wriggle and a patio with fireplace. The actors are Antoine and Emilie, in their home, you are received like friends, you take your time, you listen to Antoine talking about his cuisine with your mouth watering and you can enjoy "dishes prepared with love". Here, there is no carte, everything depends on the market produce and the inspiration of the day. You should call to book your table and to specify to him if you are rather fish (it is his specialty) or meat (roasted over a wood fire), because he does the shopping according to the number of guests. He will ask you if you are hungry and he will offer you some ideas of starters, a main course and two or three desserts. The fish are from the morning fish market of Llançà, and most importantly do not talk about microwaves, freezer or even planxa to him, it is only fresh thing and cooking with cold oven or cold frying pan, low temperature cookings to keep all flavours and "not to damage the fish". As for meat, he privileges the xaï (Catalan lamb) and the Rosée des Pyrénées (veal), while the vegetables are picked in the day in his garden or come from his market-gardener! For wines, they are organic and Antoine knows each of the producers. At Le Cabaret, the cuisine is divine, the owner really atypical and the smiling service of Emilie full of thoughtfulness... In short, Petit Futé applauds the service and says "encore! "
