In the quietness of this small mountain village away from traffic, there is nothing like eating without ruining yourself on the superb terrace of the castle with a view over the tumultuous waters of the Mantet and the famous gorges of Nyer, or in the restaurant room whose ceiling frescoes recall the skies of Tiepolo that one finds in the palaces of Veneto. Just like the small road that leads to it, time seems to have stopped in bucolic Nyer. The locals will tell you that here you can really appreciate "the Sound of Silence".
