FÊTE DE LA SAINT-JEAN
Costumed parade, riders, sound and light show: Perpignan celebrates the feast of its patron saint in a masterly and festive way.
The summer solstice festival in Perpignan, Saint John's Day (patron saint of the city) is celebrated in style. The arrival of the flame descending from Canigó is awaited at dusk on June 23 by thousands of people who gather at the foot of the Castillet. It's the city's most spectacular fireworks display of the year. That night, the sky blazes with a thousand sparkles, to the delight of all. The regenerated flame is welcomed to the sound of traditional and classical music, accompanied by a sound and light show that is always breathtaking.
