Cloister-cemetery in Perpignan, considered a popular place to visit and host summer concerts in the open air
The Campo Santo is a cloister-cemetery that is a few steps behind the cathedral. Its construction began at the beginning of the 14th century. It has a succession of Gothic porticoes in white marble that decorate the perimeter and the chapel. It is the largest and oldest surviving medieval cemetery in France. Having lost this vocation a long time ago, it is now a much appreciated place to visit and a superb setting for open-air summer concerts where international artists like to perform.
