Museum with a remarkable collection of coins and medals, the most important in Europe, in Perpignan.

This collection of coins and medals is the most important in Europe. The main collection is made up of coins, some of which are unique, from the 12th century to the present day, with almost 2,000 Catalan coins. Some ancient, Egyptian and feudal coins complete the collection. The museum also has a specialised library open by reservation. A very beautiful house, the work of the Danish architect Petersen. Its park has become a charming public garden.

Charming place. An interesting way to look at history. However I think you really have to be an enthusiast to keep interest beyond the first 50 coins! Staff very friendly and helpful with the kids. Beautiful gardens too.

Très bon accueil. Entrée gratuite. L'immeuble qui abrite la collection est déjà intéressant à lui seul, avec son jardin. L'expo temporaire est didactique, et bien conçue. Pour ce qui est de la collection permanente, elle est riche et variée. Ne pas hésiter à solliciter le responsable, qui vous fournira des informations accessibles et saura répondre à vos questions.
En sortant par le fond du jardin, laissez vous guider le long du parcours touristique "quartier gare" pour découvrir le patrimoine architectural de ce quartier.

Magnifique musée de numismatique. Le fond est fou et le personnel d'accueil est adorable. Un musée qui mériterait d'être reconnue n'y plus largement en France tant il est riche à tout point de vue !
