Museum with a remarkable collection of coins and medals, the most important in Europe, in Perpignan.

This collection of coins and medals is the most important in Europe. The main collection is made up of coins, some of which are unique, from the 12th century to the present day, with almost 2,000 Catalan coins. Some ancient, Egyptian and feudal coins complete the collection. The museum also has a specialised library open by reservation. A very beautiful house, the work of the Danish architect Petersen. Its park has become a charming public garden.

Ce formidable musée petit par la taille mais grand par la variété et la rareté des objets présentés mérite le détour !! N’hésitez pas à poser des questions au monsieur présent sur place, il a une expertise et une connaissance très pointue sur le sujet ! Petite escale dans le musée Puig dans lequel nous avons pu découvrir une exposition temporaire sur la monnaie avant l'euro... Un retour dans le temps qui nous a enjoués. Et la collection de M Puig, un vrai régal. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ce musée (bien caché ????) avec notre fille de 8 ans. Un accueil très chaleureux. Merci mesdames .
