THE TURN OF THE CAPCIR WITH VAGABOND'ANE
The Capcir tour with Vagabond'Ane, featuring a plateau with breathtaking views of the peaks at Puyvalador.
Bruno and Claudine, founders of Vagabond'Ane in Puyvalador, 25 km from Font-Romeu, offer you an easy hike in the heart of the Catalan Pyrenees Natural Park. It takes place between 1,500 and 2,200 metres, in a landscape of lakes, forests and meadows. The plateau offers a breathtaking view of the peaks. They have divided the route into five or six stages of four to five hours' walk. Accommodation is either in gîtes and refuges, or in bivouacs for the more independent and equipped. On the spot, you will find a very grassy place to tie the donkey for the night. The donkey is always the first one to be taken care of when you arrive, and this is what the youngest ones like very much. On this itinerary, the early risers may be lucky enough to see isards (Pyrenean chamois) and mouflons in the summer pastures when they wake up. During the walk, as it is the donkey that carries the luggage, everyone feels very light and can enjoy the scenery and the stimulating company of the animal. Vagabond'Ane is also a small farm with poultry, rabbits and gardens for self-consumption, a cultivation of red fruits, redcurrants, blackcurrants, for the sale of jams, complemented by the wild picking of blueberries.
