Nice walk to discover Villefranche's fortifications, specific sites and defensive elements.

The fortifications of Villefranche are almost intact. The visit allows the visitor to go through the double covered walkway, with the four towers, the bastions and the cannon embrasures, all different to adapt to the narrowness of the environment. The fortified enclosure of Villefranche presents the double originality of an adequacy to the requirements of a specific site and the superposition of defensive elements. A nice walk with a superb panorama.

Très belle citée fortifiée par Vauban. Belles ruelles étroites, nombreuses boutiques et restaurants. Période encore bien calme en ce début avril, découverte très agréable.

És una visita molt interessant.
La fortificació de tota la vila està molt ben conservada i la passejada per tota ella és del més agradable. Les vistes a peu del Canigó són magnífiques.
L’entrada costa 5€ i mereix molt la pena pagar-los.
Les mascotes poden entrar.

Espectaculares murallas. En realidad, un laberinto de galerías techadas, a veces a dos niveles, llenas de saeteras. Metros y metros, quizá algún kilómetro, de piedra, madera y pizarra. Rodean todo el pueblo, una menudencia de dos pintorescas calles que no puede compararse con los contundentes excesos de la muralla. Un enclave fronterizo destinado a la vigilancia estilo siglo XVII.
