To the north-west of Brive, in 2001, 15 communes were awarded the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire label: Allassac, Donzenac, Estivaux, Orgnac-sur-Vézère, Perpezac-le-Noir, Sadroc, Saint-Bonnet-l'Enfantier, Saint- Pardoux-l'Ortigier, Saint-Solve, Saint-Viance, Ussac, Varetz, Vigeois, Vignols and Voutezac. Land of the Vézère, of slate and ancient wine country, this territory is full of treasures, from the Romanesque abbey church of Vigeois or the medieval fortified town of Donzenac to the numerous vineyard huts or the Travassac slopes. In 2008, 29 new communes joined the programme to obtain the label. In 2010, the vine was in the spotlight with exhibitions, visits, conferences and activities for young and old. 2011 continues to extol the merits of this plant thanks to the exhibition "Let yourself be told about the vine", visible on the territory.
