It is Antonin Lespinats who, beginning, proposes to set up a hippodrome at the foot of the castle in the vast prairie. Originally designed for the training of horses, it is then open to the public. Classified in 1 st category in obstacle and in 2nd category in flat, it has 30 ha, of which two ha of tracks (flat sand and herbe), its three courses which are the theatre of high-level equestrian events from late June to mid September, flat races and obstacles, with two support days of PMU. Many horses go through here before heading to Paris or Paloises tests. For example, Zaiyad, winner of the autumn prize in Auteuil in 2006 and Graal of Chalamont, winner of the prestigious President of the Republic's Award in Auteuil in 2000. Side coaches, national leaders such as Guillaume Macaire or Jacques Ortet are active at meetings. The best French jockeys such as the multiple crop of gold Christophe Piles regularly go to the field of racing which also sees the most famous gowns, that of Baron Edouard de Rothschild or that of Sheik Mohamed Al Maktoum…
