LASVEYRAS BRIDGE MILL
This mill, a former paper mill isolated in the countryside, was the scene of a savage massacre on February 16, 1944. A place of remembrance
In this isolated spot on the banks of the Auvézère, some 40 young resistance fighters were executed by Nazi troops on February 16, 1944. To pay tribute to the members of the Resistance who fell here, the site is marked by a memorial, but also by a testimonial offered in the nearby mill, which was once a paper mill and then a flour mill. New this year, an exhibition recounts this painful page of history and retraces the lives of the martyrs, immersing us in this era.
