LABENCHE MUSEUM
Museum presenting a wide range of collections on prehistory, archaeology and the illustrious men of the Brive region...
Housed in a mansion built around 1540 by Jean de Calvimont, this museum is the finest example of Renaissance civil architecture in the Limousin. At the entrance, you'll find the base of Brive's 14th-century ramparts, demolished in 1765, and a beautiful paving stone. In 17 rooms, the museum presents various collections: prehistory, archaeology, history, illustrious men of the Brive region, fine arts, numismatics, popular arts and traditions in Corrèze (family life, urban and agricultural activities, crafts) and natural history. Fascinating.
