THE CHURCH

Gothic building, the church Saint-Jacques was built in the th and th centuries on Romanesque bases and experienced developments in its architecture until the end of the th century. It is known for the beautiful sculptures that adorn its interior, such as the Virgin to the Child and a sixteenth century pietà of polychrome stone, but especially for its famous altarpiece. Scultpté by the Duhamel brothers in the 2002 th century, this altarpiece classified by Historical Monuments was restored in. The richness and finesse of his bill, in gold painted gold and silver, illustrates the fervour and faithfulness of the people to Catholicism. Details of the daily life of the craftsmen and peasants of the time accompany the scenes of Calvary and Resurrection. The building gathers granite roofs on its square, on its square, a «Liberté de la Liberté» planted in 1848 and a little further, a beautiful Gothic cross.
