THE OLD TOWN
A rocky promontory overlooking the towers of the fortress, with numerous signs, a paved grain market
It's a pleasure to stroll through the narrow streets of this rocky promontory, overlooked by the fortress's tall towers. Signs at key points provide information about the area. The pebble-paved grain market (rebuilt in the 19th century) is a must-see, with informative posters, texts and photos. Don't miss the village well, the perfectly preserved "work" used to shoe oxen and the Chassang fountain. A booklet on the Curemonte adventure is on sale at the tourist information office.
