The small town of Laguenne is tapie between two mountains with very steep and accessible sides. On these slopes, it was used to grow from fine vines to black grapes and tight grains which gave a chimes wine of which the centuries were made. Today, Laguenne's vines have died, swept away by phylloxera. On the north slope of the guennois slopes, large woods faced the vine and nowadays, the ancient forest of Engonetto, also known as the «forest of Ganette», hides many bauges from where there was a tight hordes, preferably at night, with their marcassins who dévoraient and rampaged everything they found on their passage. It is therefore between a dark forest, almost inaccessible so much the slope of the ground is large, and a hillside covered of vineyards that was founded the small town. By walking through its streets, you can still admire old stalls, see broken arches and the remains of windows. These ancient houses were once owned by artisans and dealers who worked in their own personal forges for the Tulle Arms Manufacturing.
