L'HERBIER SAUVAGE
Gourmet and traditional cuisine in a restaurant in Saint-Yrieix-le-Déjalat.
The establishment was taken over 9 years ago by Bernard Lardin and Catherine Vaisiere. The couple, originally from Belgium, serve a gourmet and traditional cuisine in a house with a typical Corrèze interior. In this old farmhouse, very well restored, you are welcomed with authenticity and simplicity. The restaurant room has a inglenook fireplace and the walls are made of exposed stone. During the week, the working-class meal is served in the bar room. But you can also let yourself be tempted by the "tradition" or "discovery" menu. Feel free to trust the boss for suggestions. Fricassee of sweetbreads of veal with ceps and chanterelles, Grand Bleigne trout, homemade chocolate fondant as well. Not all the dishes on offer on the menu are necessarily available, especially in winter, but this is rather reassuring, as a limited choice often guarantees freshness. The selection of wines is varied and interesting. The establishment also welcomes groups for banquets for up to 35 people. Every last Friday, it's a theme evening: sauerkraut, paella or a reverse menu that invites you to start with dessert!
